Product Manager

Job Summary

The Product Manager is responsible for the daily performance of an assigned product line. This position requires a solid understanding of sourcing options, engineering support, coordinating resources, and customer quoting. The Product Manager supports two groups of customers: 1) Internal customers (Sales Managers) within the team that quote their customers and 2) external customers. This position plays a vital role in defining part values, sourcing, and selling to accomplish departmental goals and company objectives. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Determines market value for parts assigned to the product line
  • Maintains an ILS account and other marketing channels
  • Responsible for the “buy” side and occasionally “sell” side of the transaction
  • Coordinates resources necessary to ensure timely sourcing and repair
  • Coordinates with engineering to determine alternates and effectivity
  • Decides sourcing of customer–supplied parts for repair
  • Tracks aircraft teardowns and MSNs for sourcing and effectivity related to the product line
  • Supports internal and external customers
  • Quote Sales Managers and external customers
  • Determine market value, NHA, alternates, interchangeable, mods
  • Work with engineering and technical support to source hard-to-find requirements
  • Manage ILS account(s) and other marketing channels
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with MROs, suppliers, and teardown facilities
  • Coordinate with Operations on repairs, such as customer-supplied parts and disposition of BER parts
  • Update Sales Managers on transaction progress and details
  • Responsible for revenue goals 

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s in Business, Communication, Aviation or prior experience in aerospace/aircraft industry will be considered in lieu of education
  • 5–8 years of experience in aircraft part sales
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Model a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Strong business acumen, analytical problem-solving, and decision-making
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to set overall strategy and drive process improvement.
  • Proficient in relevant software applications (Microsoft, Salesforce/AvSight)
